Zero Stars Out Of Five
FlashNano 2019, Day 14
What a bad experience.
The original promotional image was promising: no less that a blue marble in such a backwater system. The rest of the pictures showed promise, with oceans of blue, luscious jungles and plenty of space for family and friends in all kinds of environments, with local animal life for fun.
Well, to start with, when we arrived it turned out to be intelligent life. That was such an embarrassment, to start with. Moreover, the locals claimed no knowledge of our contract or the company’s. They were quite underway in the process of contaminating their homeland, and they rejected all our efforts for help. To add insult to injury, they asked us to leave, and by law we were obligated to comply.
We tried to file a claim with the company, but we couldn’t reach customer service. We turned to our bank, but the transaction had been completed and the funds retired. I began to worry when the bank informed me that the company had apparently removed all their accounts as well. We ended up informing the authorities of this scam.
In short, what a horrible holiday for our family. Never trust bargain-looking ads.
This is my flash for Day 14 of FlashNano 2019, (idea by Nancy Stohlman). The prompt for today was “Write a story in the form of a review.” It seems I really like SciFi…
